CSG INTERNATIONAL CONCERT

Saturday 7th June 2008 at Liverpool Lighthouse

This concert was the finale of the International Gospel Arts Partnership Summit and showcased a range of upcoming and established gospel artists from Warsaw, Alabama, Florida, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bradford and the South Pacific Islands. Audiences had a chance to sample a wide range of gospel music in genres ranging from hip-hop and blues to jazz and worship. For the artists, the concert offered another chance to show industry decision making the stuff they are made of. Key contacts were made during the interval and after the concert.

Shawn Henry started off the show with his hip-hop track ‘Solider of Christ’ and the night, followed by the American Rap trio Royal Priesthood. Joel Brown, runner up at this year’s Star Awards sang a soulful number before Ni-cola raised the tempo with her energetic gospel songs. Pacific Spirit provided humorous light entertainment with their cultural dances while Magdalena Piskorczyk ran into the crowd after singing “This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine”. Toscha memorably added some jazz sparkle to renowned gospel tunes and later Jewels wowed audiences before the concert ended with the amazing vocals of Leeds based choir Voices in Praise.
